Earl Anderson

Earl began his solar heating career in 1981 at age 21, installing residential systems during Colorado’s 70% tax credit era. Over the next 30 years, he worked across Colorado and California, gradually shifting from installations to service and repair. In 2010, he earned his NABCEP certification in solar thermal, widely considered the industry’s gold standard, so it is an honor to have achieved such a respected and rigorous credential.

For the past decade, Earl has led Aztec Solar’s Commercial Solar Thermal Division, overseeing the planning and implementation of large-scale projects for apartments, hotels, schools, and recreation centers. It has been a privilege to be tasked with selecting the equipment, designing the systems, and assembling the right teams to build them. Working under Ed Murray and alongside the Aztec team has been a dream job—one he jokingly says came 25 years too late.

Earl’s approach to work and life is shaped by a simple piece of advice he once found in a fortune cookie: “Be optimistic. There isn’t much reason being otherwise.
