Clif Bar installing solar farm to power its 300,000 square-foot bakery

You have seen us applaud various corporations who have decided to put their energy use in their own hands and make a positive impact on the environment.

Add Clif Bar to the growing list of large companies going solar.

In Idaho, the company’s bakery is in the process of installing a solar farm capable of delivering 30 percent of its yearly electricity needs to the building made up of 300,000 square feet. The farm will be five acres and produce 3 million kilowatt hours of energy every year. In addition, Clif is installing carport-mounted panels in the parking lot of the facility.

The company says the bakery will use around 20 percent less energy than a typical comparable bakery after the installation is complete.

If solar can accomplish this for a 30,000 square-foot facility, imagine what it can do for your home! Residents across the Sacramento region, continue to take advantage of the benefits of solar power by installing solar panels on their roofs. Not only are they lowering their electricity bills, but they are also doing what they can to reduce their carbon footprint.
