The initiative has five policy focus areas: energy, waste and recycling, water and nature, urban design and green building, and green and clean technology. Sacramento is a growing city and with that comes responsible growth, and equally as important the green initiative lays out extensive plans for job creation. The enthusiasm behind this initiative is reaching the diverse population in Sacramento. As the Executive Director Simeon Gant of Green Technical Education and Employment explains, a clean environment is an impotent asset to leave to future generations.
