Solar energy to provide power to over 1 million Moroccans

Solar power will soon provide power to more than one million Moroccans thanks to a new solar power plant constructed in that country.

The goal of the project, which is one of the largest of its kind in the world, is to install 2 GW of solar power by 2020. Morocco relies heavily of foreign sources of energy and this project is expected to reduce that dependence by two and a half million tons of oil. The project, which is in the city of Quarzezate, is also expected to reduce the country’s carbon emissions by 76,000 tons per year, according to the World Bank.

This is yet another example of the power of solar as a renewable energy and another reason why Aztec Solar is encouraging more cities across the country, including Sacramento, to commit to 100 percent clean energy as part of The Sierra Club’s #ReadyFor100 campaign (https://aztecsolar.com/solar-blog/aztec-solar-throws-support-behind-readyfor100-campaign/).

And if solar energy could do this much for an entire country, imagine what it could do for your home and your energy bill. Do you want to be part of the solar movement and save on your energy bill at the same time? Aztec Solar is the company you should call because we have been doing solar and only solar in Sacramento for more than 36 years.
