U.S. now has totaled 2 million solar installations

The good news for solar keeps on coming.

A new report from the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) reports that the U.S. has surpassed 2 million solar PV installations. What makes this an even more astounding achievement is that the U.S. hit the 1 million installation mark just three years ago. The U.S. took 40 years to reach that 1 million installation milestone.

The amount of solar now installed in the U.S. is enough to generate electricity every year for over 12 million houses across the country.

Wood Mackenzie, who also helped with the report, predicts that in 2021, the U.S. will reach 3 million installations and hit 4 million by 2023. It is no surprise that California represented 43 percent of the installations over the last three years.

Sunny California has long been a leader in the solar industry, and Aztec Solar has been setting the standard for solar installations in the Sacramento region for nearly four decades.
