One of the solar panels for our pool started leaking. We called Aztec Solar on the recommendation of our pool service and someone came out within a couple of days, checked the source of the leak and told us we needed a new panel. The panel was ordered that day and a week later the new panel was installed and the system is now working great. We’re very impressed with the customer service and quick follow through. We will definitely call them again if we have any problems with our solar.

The rep (Jen Louise) who came out to give me a quote was very thorough in her explanation of how the system would work, and my options – ground mount vs roof mount. I opted for the ground mount which would save me $$ if I built the rack on which they would mount the solar panels.Throughout the process if I had any questions or concerns Jen Louise was a quick phone call or text away. If she didn’t have the answer I needed, she referred me to their office, and they also responded very quickly.Once I’d completed building the rack, the install went smoothly and it wasn’t long before the pool was at my ideal temperature.Everyone concerned at Aztec was a pleasure to deal with.

The design of our roof is not ideal for an efficient solar solution. Therefore we looked for a rack solution for quite some time. We had an offer before from a different solar company but they were not able to deal with work on lava cap. I was quite impressed of the efforts by the sales person and the design team to locate the right placement and the most efficient connection to the house. The management of the project was excellent. They have excellent and very friendly professional teams. The process was so well organized that one day after the inspector signed off we got from PGE the approval to connect. Last but not least they demonstrated today how superior their customer service is. There was an unexpected power shut off by PGE and on our end there was an issue with the switch to solar/batteries. Within an hour after I contacted them a technician was here and fixed the problem. I highly recommend Aztec.

Aztec Solar came highly recommended by my pool service provider. The initial appointment was set and the sales person arrived exactly as promised. He provided a reasonable quote and explained the steps in the process. Everything went exactly as described and the installation was completed on time. All debris was cleaned up. The system is a hands free system and only has to be turned on (which was done for me) and off when winter is approaching. I could not be more pleased with the experience with Aztec Solar and highly recommend them. (They also provided me with a Senior citizen discount without me having to ask for it! )

I recently had Aztec solar install our solar to heat our pool and I had a great experience. Customer service was great and responsive and I had no problems getting things answered and taken care of. Glad I went with this company versus their competitors. From the moment I sat down with the representative and signing the contract things went smoothly and everything was handled in a timely manner. Can’t wait to enjoy our warm pool as soon as the weather decides if it wants to stay cold or hot lol.
The process was easy. Aztec even helped me assemble info to take to my HOA for approval. The Aztec folks were nice to work with, appear to have done a good job, and did what they said they would when they said they would. It was a good experience and I’d pick them again. My pool company had initially subcontracted the job to Solaron. But I had a hard time getting Solaron to communicate with me about doing the instill on my cement tile roof. Because of the tile, Solaron ultimately refused to do the job. Totally their loss. Stick with Aztec.

Last year, I had Aztec Solar replace my old pool pump with a new variable speed pump, and I could not be happier with the experience. Brad, the technician who installed the pump, was fantastic. He was skilled, polite, and incredibly efficient throughout the installation process. Unlike other Solar companies, Aztec did not bombard ua with unwanted phone calls or heavy sale tactics. Jen, their sales consultant, was informative and did not pressure us into anything more than we wanted. We had decided on getting solar heating for our pool to extend the swimming season. Some of my pool solar panels were damaged during the recent storms with the high winds. I called the solar company that installed the system twenty years ago to have them come out and repair it. I was told that I was now out of their service zone and even with my offer to pay whatever travel charge they wanted they wouldn’t come out. I called many companies who either had the same service policy or didn’t do pool solar. I finally called Aztec and from the lady who answered the phone and set up an appointment for two days later to Travis the service technician who arrived and got it all fixed in an hour and a half it was a great experience. Thanks for helping me out!

This was the best decision I’ve ever made. Since the installation of solar hot water, photo voltaic, insulation and sealing my SMUD bills have gone from average $300 per month to under $40 – this may go up this summer when the air conditioning is on, but even with all the Christmas lights burning day and night the bill was still under $40. I can’t thank Don Rodes enough for helping me get this system installed. The whole staff at Aztec Solar has been terrific. I’ve been recommending Aztec Solar to everyone I know.

The field technicians were professionals in the true sense of what we consider professional: on time, focused on the job; told me it would take four hours; it took four hours. They gave me hands on instructions, as well as written information about my solar system. They also re-assured me that if I have a problem, no matter how big or small, that I should always call Aztec and they would help me resolve the problem.

Very efficient and everything seems to be working well. I would have given 5 stars but when filling the trench, they spread landscape rock onto what had been a grass area which will be difficult to correct.

We had them install a solar pool heater. Since then I have had to have a little help with the controls. Their service staff are helpful and friendly. I had a bill that I thought I had taken care of but somehow missed. Julian from billing was super cool about it and waved the late fee. If I was doing anything with solar I would definitely choose this company. Seriously great people that remember what customer service is supposed to be.
We couldn’t be happier with our decision to go with Aztec Solar Inc. for our pool solar installation. We had a terrible experience trying to get pool solar from Diablo Solar Services Inc. this summer. They wanted to do the work without applying for a permit, which is a requirement in the state of California. Upon insisting on a permit, they charged us double the cost for the permit and were unable to secure the permit after 4 months and several submittals to the city. These are the reasons we terminated our contract with Diablo Solar Services, Inc. and contacted Aztec Solar Inc. for our pool solar installation. Our experience with Aztec Solar Inc. exceeded our expectations from start to finish! From the first consultation, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. They provided us with a clear and detailed quote, answered all of our questions patiently, and worked with us to design a system that would maximize sun exposure while keeping things aesthetically pleasing.The installation process was smooth and efficient. The crew arrived on time, worked diligently, and left everything clean and tidy when they were done. They even took the time to walk us through how everything worked and made sure we were comfortable with the new setup. These folks removed and then reinstalled a solar water heating system as I had my roof replaced. The crews were great, worked quickly and expertly, and coordinated well with the roofing company. These are good people.

Aztec Solar came out and installed solar panels and a battery at our house. We were really happy with the whole process, they communicated well, did what they said they would and everything seems to be working exactly as described. They took care of the permits and set up the inspection appointments too so it was really low stress. The installation took less than two days and was done really well so as to have the lowest impact possible. Definitely recommend.
We purchased a home with an unheated in-ground pool in Grass Valley. Discouraged by the thought of the ridiculous cost of gas heating the water, we looked into solar options. We called Aztec Solar and got a quote to install a system that utilizes our existing pool equipment. A pool has to circulate about 8 hours a day, with or without a heating system. Their system simply adds a new pump that has two stages – one stage for every day circulation (year round) and a second higher-output stage, that automatically comes on (during warmer sunny days) to push the water through a series of thin black plastic tubes (located on the roof) heating the water by the ambient temperature and direct sunlight. The sun-heated water then circulates back into the pool – That’s it! We easily keep our pool at a decadent 91 degrees starting in the spring, thru the beginning of fall, without the stress of paying high gas prices. What’s more, is that you can easily set the water temperature to the exact number you want! The cost was Much lower than installing a gas heater, and all we pay for is the electricity for one speed higher on our pool’s circulation pump, only when needed. Once the pool reaches your desired temperature, the pump automatically adjust back to stage one, circulating the water as it does year round – Genius! We have had the system for three years now, and from the quality of the product, the workmanship of the installers, the knowledge and helpfulness of the service department, to the integrity of the the company, we honestly couldn’t be happier! Aztec Solar is Amazing!!!

Happy with product and service. I had 6 pool solar thermal panels put on an outbuilding and about 180 ft of piping with 50 ft underground put in over 2 days. The crew worked well and acted on requests for placement. Several small communication issues were addressed quickly. A change in placement of the winter drain valve needed to be done to be able to reach it and direct water appropriately – all taken care of. A problem with the Polaris App communicating was looked into a couple days later with quick support response.
The installation team was extremely friendly, responsive, and professional throughout the entire process. They installed solar panels to heat our pool and did an excellent job. Their pricing was fair and reasonable, communication was clear, and they completed the installation in a timely manner exactly as promised. Munro, the advisor, was very thorough, upfront about all costs, and paid close attention to detail, which made our decision very easy. I really appreciated their efficiency and positive attitude, and I would highly recommend their services.
My husband and I have been using Aztec Solar to turn our pool Solar on at the beginning of swim season and to turn it off at the end for approximately 16 years now. Service has always been great, this time we needed some repairs, I believe our technician‘s name was Earl and he was very efficient and courteous and professional. This is the company we trust the most. Our pool service offered to do the repairs and parts replacements for $150 more than Aztec. I believe their pricing is very fair.

James Ward came to check our pool solar system on April 15. When finalizing the checkup, he noticed leakage and replaced a portion of the pipe (shiny black in the picture). He is very thorough and knowledgeable about repairs and new products. I have struggled with the Sun Control system for years. James told me about a new Pentair system. I asked him for a bid for the new system and it’s being installed next week. Thank you for your help!

I made a poor decision and had another solar company install panels and a battery. Equipment was installed and the following week that company went out of business. As I was left holding the bag, I discovered that that company did not generate a permit either before of after installation so I had to scramble to get that issue resolved to get the proper inspections completed. I got hold of Chris at Aztec and he was a fountain of great information. Chris gave me the information and contacts as to how to get my project to the inspection stage. Chris went totally out of his way to help me. As hindsight is 20/20 I wish that I had started with Aztec from the start. This company is the only one you will need to contact regarding all of your solar needs. If I could rate them higher than 5 stars I definitely would.
During Solar start up, two of my (older) panels were found to be leaking. A very responsive estimate was provided very fairly priced and work scheduled and completed within a week. I switched to Aztec last year from the guys in the big red truck and it’s the best decision I’ve made. Instead of a commissioned upsell, I get told what needs to be done, no non-sense and the guys are professional, on time and communicate great! The back office is always helpful and it makes this whole experience one I will refer out to and to use again! Thanks Aztec

He came by to help make sure the system was functioning properly and no issues were present. He was courteous, professional, extremely knowledgeable, and very very thorough! I was having trouble getting the solar set for summer. Aztec scheduled fairly pricy tech visit but when I asked if I could just walk through the steps with a tech on the phone they were great about it. They followed up. The tech, james, called me right away and I couldn’t talk so he called exactly on time the next day at the scheduled time. He was respectful, friendly, very knowledgeable and got the problem identified and solved in minutes. Really great service. Thank you !!
We needed our solar repaired. Aztec was recommended to us they deserved it. The service was great and timely. Nick was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. The main problem was quickly resolved and Nick identified and fixed two smaller issues we didn’t know about. Will definitely call Aztec whenever we need help with the pool.
