Aztec Solar proud to assist Davis in effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

We were proud to have sponsored the Cool Davis Solar Fair & Movie Screening over the weekend.

The event, held at the Davis Veterans Memorial Theater on June 5, allowed us to speak about the benefits of solar energy and be part of a good cause. Cool Davis is an active network of residents, community organizations, businesses and community institutions committed to implementing the city of Davis’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan.

The mission at Cool Davis is to inspire the community to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to a changing climate and improve the quality of life for all. The organization’s current local goals are to reduce emissions to 28 percent below 1990 levels by 2015 and reach carbon neutrality by 2050. This is a mission we can get behind, and we’re proud to be a part of.

The event offered a free screening of the solar film “Catch the Sun,” which is a documentary that “through the stories of workers and entrepreneurs in the U.S. and China” captures the “global race to lead the clean energy future.”

Aztec Solar has been doing solar and only solar in the Sacramento region for more than 35 years and believes in a clean future for our country and local communities. In fact, Aztec Solar encourages more California cities, including those in the Sacramento region, to commit to 100 percent clean energy as part of the Sierra Club’s #ReadyFor100 campaign. The campaign is urging mayors in cities across the country to commit to 100 percent clean energy.
