The #ReadyFor100 campaign, led by the Sierra Club, recently made a surprise appearance at the U.S. Conference of Mayors in D.C. #ReadyFor100 took over the outside of the Capitol Hilton hotel, where nearly 300 U.S. mayors were convened, with a massive light projection on the side of the building showcasing the message “Welcome U.S. Mayors: Are you #ReadyFor100?”
California cities are ahead of the curve when it comes to clean energy. In December, San Diego became the largest U.S. city to commit to 100 percent clean energy. San Francisco has made a similar commitment along with 14 other U.S. cities, including Burlington, VT and Aspen, CO, showing that the 100 percent clean energy is the new standard for climate leadership. Aztec Solar encourages more California cities to follow suit and commit to 100 percent clean energy.
Solar energy is one of the most popular clean energy resources. The strength of the solar industry was recently highlight by the fact that its workforce grew more than 20 percent for the third consecutive year, according to the latest National Solar Jobs Census.
