East coast theme park powering 53 rides and water park entirely with solar

A large amusement park on the east coast is being powered completely by the sun.

That’s right, solar energy is powering 53 rides and a water park at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. This is thanks to a solar farm that produces 23.5 megawatts (enough power to operate around 4,000 homes) from 60,000 panels! This theme park solar farm only comes in second to the size of the one that Walt Disney uses to power its Disney World park.

The panels are located on a large farm and on top of parking lot canopies.

In addition, the theme park has plans to generate excess energy that can be pushed back into the grid for other energy consumers.

With this kind of power production, imagine what solar could do for your business! By utilizing commercial solar in the sunny Sacramento region, your business could potentially save thousands of dollars every month on electricity costs. You would also be increasing the value of your property should you decide to sell it at a later time.

And best yet, the Solar Investment Tax Credit of 30 percent can be extended to most businesses who install solar. Keep in mind, however, that the Tax Credit will lower to 26 percent next year.

Aztec Solar can handle pretty much any commercial solar installation, from multi-family to affordable housing units. If you are interested in taking control of your company’s electricity bill and helping the environment at the same time, make sure you contact us today!
