But before we get to that, let’s take a look at some historical facts about the River Cats.
Did you know?
- The River Cats relocated to Sacramento prior to the 2000 season from Vancouver. They were previously known as the Vancouver Canadians.
- The River Cats have led the Pacific Coast League in attendance for the last 16 seasons. The franchise also led all Minor League Baseball in attendance in the 2015 season.
- The following players have been graduated to Major League Baseball from the River Cats: Barry Zito, Eric Hinske, Bobby Crosby, Eric Byrnes and Nick Swisher.
- While in Sacramento, the River Cats have won two Triple-A Championships, four Pacific Coast League Championships and 1 PCL South Division Championships.
- Raley Field, the home of the River Cats, was originally built with a capacity of 14,611, but in 2005 the capacity changed to 14,414 with the addition of the party deck, providing fans with all the amenities of a major league park with the intimacy of a minor league facility. In 2010, the seating capacity was modified to 14,014 following the opening of the Raley’s Diamond Club area behind home plate.
